Umek is words best techno DJ. He is the biggest living brands in Slovenia. After seven years it was time to redesign the Umek identity. But we had a huge dilemma. How to design something that worked so well in the
past years?
Well you don’t have to. So we found a solution how to upgrade the existing identity and solve some of the things we learned. The bar code is generated from the logo itself and has become a main visual element on all branding materials - from posters to social media.

We have created a new medium.

But there is a hidden agenda. We have made an app that reads the barcode and replaces it with messages Umek generates - time and geolocated. So we have created a new medium - all branding material is the new medium. Posters never get old and a photo with Umeks t-shirt becomes an ultimate fan selfie.
